Dear Fellow Elkoans,
As
I look around our growing city I see a lot of hard working
people. We all put in long days at the mine, on the ranch, at
our business, or in our home. We’re all working hard to live a
“good life”. But that is what has me so concerned; many of us
have fooled ourselves into thinking that through our good works
we can earn God’s favor. God has been very clear to us, no
matter how many “good” things we do, they are only evil in God’s
sight (Romans 4:4). This may seem like a desperate situation,
but there is hope. If we have faith in Jesus Christ for our
salvation, all of His works are credited to our account (Romans
5:18-19). This is wonderful news because our salvation is not
dependent on our works. It is this Good News that I long to
share with Elko. Please join us as we study the Bible together
and learn what God has revealed to His creation through His
Word. Our hope and prayer is that this Bible study will grow to
be a church that is true to the faith of the historical
protestant church and the Bible. Sincerely,
